Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum: Programs & Events
Guided tours are provided to any guests that would like one! Our docents have an expansive and impressive knowledge of shipwrecks and the stories that surround them - from the rescues to the folks who did the rescuing. Take advantage of their innate storytelling abilities and go home with adventure stories to tell your friends! Tours are included in the price of admission to the Museum.
An Evening of Shipwreck Stories - Join us for an evening of dramatic shipwreck stories accented by lively sea shanties. This event continues to sell out each summer. Hear the stories of the quarterboards that decorate the Shannon Gallery. Do not miss it! This year it will be held on Wednesday June 7 at 5:30pm. Tickets are $10 for Egan Maritime Institute Members, $20 for Members-to-be.
Family Days - On Tuesday July 11 and Tuesday August 8, due to a generous donation from Ritchie, Katie and Westray Battle, the Museum is offering captivating and thrilling programming for all children on Nantucket! Bring your young ones to shoot a lyle gun, save Marshall the Sea Dog and climb the rigging! Bring lunch and enjoy the view of Folger's Marsh after creating maritime crafts. This is a wonderful day for all ages!
