The 2012 Maritime Festival took place on Saturday, September 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Children’s Beach, Brant Point and the Town Pier.  The purpose of the Maritime Festival is to celebrate the joy of living on an island and to experience time-honored maritime activities on and beside the sea that surrounds it.

The festival will be packed with free activities for the whole family, on the water, beach and grass:  boat races, shucking contests, entertainment by local musical groups, art projects and beach games are just a few of the programs that will be offered by Nantucket’s non-profit organizations.  Food will be available for purchase from the ACK Shack, Raw Bar by Nantucket Seafood, and the Sons of American Legion.

Shuttle transportation will be provided between the Maritime Festival locations by Chief's Cab throughout the day.
